Here, at our workshop, even those who have never touched bamboo before, will be taught carefully so that they can enjoy creating with bamboo.

Making a bamboo strings
For making bamboo strings, there are roughly two steps:
1. Splitting - We split the round bamboo again and again to reach the wanted thickness and width of our bamboo string.
2. Tearing - separating the skin and the body of the bamboo. Adjusting the width and thickness.

Bamboo tongs
To be able to make Tongs we need to bend the bamboo with direct fire.
If you learn this gentle technique of fire bending, you will be able afterwards to make various things by yourself at home.
Tongs are a useful tool in the kitchen for salad and pasta.

Hot pot base

We will use 6 bamboo strings and a bamboo outer frame to make this pot base.
By cutting a thick bamboo string into 4 pieces, the string becomes flexible while keeping its strength. This string dividing technique is a wisdom coming from our ancestors.
The weaving is beautiful, so you can use it to decorate your kitchen or room.

Shikainami Hanakago - small basket
We will use 16 bamboo strings.
As the name suggests, the weaving design reminds us of waves crashing from four directions.
After assembling the bottom, we will bundle bamboo to assemble a three-dimensional object.
It can be used in so many different ways like: storing fruits,sweets, handkerchiefs, small items, flower arrangement.
